Administration

 The San Juan County Fire Department Administration is located in the Fire Operations Center at 209 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM. The San Juan County Fire Department Administration assists in coordinating basic training and also equipping firefighters with the proper personal protective clothing for all 14 Fire Districts. The San Juan County Fire Department Administration also acts as a liaison between the 14 Fire Districts and other regional fire departments, public safety agencies, and other county departments.

 Marie Jones - Office Manager – Oversees daily operations of administrative support staff. Processes all membership related paperwork: applications, background checks, volunteer training and certificates, New Member Orientation, personnel files. Coordinates Fire Chief’s Association meeting; acts as Recording Secretary. Processes all PERA retirement paperwork including enrollment and annual reporting. Oversees planning of fire department events: banquet, conferences, community events. Serves as backup for all duties of Office Assistant III and Office Assistant II.

Tiffany Akin - Office Assistant III – Handles all aspects of fire department purchasing: purchase requests, SPO’s, check requests, invoices, packing slips, freight check-in, utilities. Serves as backup for all duties of Office Assistant II.

 Gretchen Schneider - Office Assistant II – Handles most aspects of daily operations: customer relations, phones, mail, filing, form updates, gear issuance, ID badge issuance, burn permits. Processes all phases of Travel & Training requests: registration, reservations, reconciliation. Processes all nominal fees. Maintains scheduling for training room use. Oversees daily flow of office: maintenance requests, unit repair requests, office supplies.
