District 7 - Center Point FD

38 Years of Dedicated Service to San Juan County

San Juan County Fire Department, District 7, Center Point started in December 1979 and had an estimated 18 members at the time. Jerry Smiley was the first Chief of the department and is still an active member. Their first engine was a 1963 International which was replaced in 1985 by a Pierce GMC.

District 7 covers an area of 62 miles with 8 pieces of equipment and approximately 20 volunteer firefighters out of 2 stations. Station 1 is located on CR 2755 north of Aztec, NM. Station 2 was opened April, 2017 and is located 4 miles out of Aztec, NM on Hwy 173.

District 7 serves San Juan County citizens on US Hwy 550 north of Aztec, NM as well as the citizens on NM 173.

District 7 has automatic aid agreements with Districts 3 & 5 and provides mutual aid support to Aztec FD when requested.
